Plant Care Guide
Keep your indoor plants healthy with simple, practical advice from Plixernovrphak.
Light & Placement
Most indoor plants prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid hot midday sun. North and east-facing windows work well in New Zealand. Rotate pots occasionally for even growth.
Watering
Check the top inch of soil before watering. Let it dry between waterings for most species. Use room-temperature water and ensure pots have drainage. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.
Humidity & Temperature
Indoor plants generally like consistent room temperature and moderate humidity. Grouping plants or placing them on a tray with pebbles and water can help in dry rooms.
Feeding & Repotting
Feed during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Repot when roots fill the pot or growth slows, typically every one to two years.
